In Memory of Loraine Meyer
EGA and the Houston Embroiderers’ Guild lost a good friend
and member April 7, 2010, Loraine Landrus Meyer.  She was
the wife of the late Andre Meyer, mother to Marilyn, Carolyn,
Andre IV and Bruce and friend to us all.  Loraine served in
many capacities as an EGA member, both nationally and
locally.  Dean of Faculty for Seminar ’76, Chairman of Forum ’
84, National Board member for 6 years, President of HEG for
3 terms, Region Seminar Chairman 1986 and 1998,
Contributing Editor of Needle Arts and a Certified Judge
mentions only a few of her many services to our
organization.  A theater major in college, she also provided us
with many moments of entertainment as the character,
“Smyrna Herringbone”.   Loraine was a charter member of
the Houston Embroiderers’ Guild and will surely be missed by
all who knew and loved her.
