Congratulations to Sallie Pate !!
Shortly after Tuesday’s HEG meeting, Sallie learned that she had been selected to receive the South Central Region’s
Gold Thread Award for 2009. EGA praised her knowledge of embroidery and her contributions to HEG, GCGN and to the
South Central Region. Sallie will be recognized in October along with nominees from the other twelve regions at the EGA
National Seminar in Pittsburgh, PA. Then EGA will announce the national winner choosing one person from these regional
winners. Sallie – we’re pulling for you!

HEG Correspondence Course
There were fourteen members that signed up for the HEG Correspondence Course entitled – A Memory Book:
Scrapbooking with a Needle. Group meetings will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month at Tracy Gee Center
starting August 27th. Cathy Trostmann has provided the instructions for this project and most participants picked
up their text on Tuesday, June 9th. Be sure to read through the project and gather your supplies prior to the first
meeting. Following is a list of members participating. Look at the list below - you may want to create carpools to go
to the meetings at Tracy Gee.
Jan Campbell, Margy Clark, Margaret Digby, Marilyn Harris, Marian Hoffman, Joanie Jacobsen, Candy Jepsen,
Barbie McPhee, June Murdock, Pat Rozendal, Nasreen Saeedi, Peg Taylor, Bobbi Tessandori and Terry Zabel.
The classes will begin on Thursday August 27th and meet the fourth Thursday each month.
However, there will be no meeting in October due to the Exhibit, November due to Thanksgiving,
or December due to Christmas.
I've asked that the group be given until after the April 22, 2010 meeting to complete the project. Class meetings will
be held at Tracy Gee Center. So mark your calendars to show the following meeting dates.
