About Us
THE HOUSTON EMBROIDERERS' GUILD |
The Houston Embroiderers' Guild has over 100 members who
enjoy needlework of all kinds. As a chapter of The Embroiderers’
Guild of America, we include all aspects of needlework that
involve a threaded needle of any type. We enjoy learning new
techniques, hearing lectures from experts in their field and
learning about the history of all forms of needlework. Programs
are varied and cover a wide range of topics. Our goal is to foster
friendship and camaraderie as together we pursue our passion
for the needle arts.
We have designated 2011 as the year of ethnic embroidery. We
will sample an exciting variety of techniques, learn some of the
history of these embroidery forms, and try our hand at each type.
Please take a peek at our program listing for 2011 for specifics.
We are always anxious to welcome new members. You are
welcome to come and visit a few times to see if our guild is some
thing you would be interested in joining. For information about
joining, general meetings, educational opportunities, special
